When people hear about song, they usually try to make sense of it by connecting it with something they know, which is usually music or chanting. They tend to expect song to either sooth those that are hurting, or to be a type of sound therapy that uses frequency and vibration to impact the emotional system. The songs of Life are neither of these things. They do use sound, but they don’t just use frequency and vibration to heal. Instead, they share Life—the power of Creation—with those in need.
The songs of Life are a tool that would fit well within Native American cultures because Natives used to live lives that were very close to and connected with the earth. Because of this, they knew that the earth had Life infused within her, and that It could be harnessed and used to help humans heal. For us, this modality seems foreign at best, and ridiculous at worst. To be honest, if I wasn’t given song and spent so much time using it to transform my own and other’s lives, I probably wouldn’t have ever been exposed to or tried it myself. But sometimes Life has its own plans for us.
“I write about Life and Creation because I want the reader to understand how I was shaped into a practitioner. I don’t consider these connections to be religious, or even spiritual in nature. For me, finding Life is a human thing, and so it’s on that level that I try to share my story and the songs of Life with others.”
The best way to come to know the songs of Life is to experience them, ideally over time as a part of a healing process. When people receive song, they rarely feel better right away because song orients towards healing, not relief. In the beginning, song progressively wakes up torn up core emotion that has been shut down and placed at a distance. My clients then learn to meet and work with this emotion so they can help it have what it needs to heal. As the core healing process gets moving, and my clients learn to play their hands-on role within it, the impact of song starts to clarify. My clients start to tangibly feel stronger and more whole emotionally while also becoming more capable of meeting and being a part of life.
Song reaches the deepest part of the emotional system, which is the main reason why it’s so consistent in producing such tangible and lasting results. This depth allows you to work towards, into, and through the heart of your issues and problems so you can generate change from the inside out.
The impact of song is inextricably tied to the singer that shares it because he’s the weak link in the connection between those in need and the almost limitless power of Creation. The stronger and more skilled the singer, the more powerful his impact is on his client’s struggles. Singers need to heal through and overcome their own struggles so they can earn the strength and knowledge needed to help others navigate their own.
Song is shared in an interactive and customized manner. Instead of belting out a tune and hoping for the best, the singer uses song in a very focused and connected way. To do this, the singer learns to connect with the client’s emotional healing process within their emotional system. By reading this emotional landscape, the singer is able to pinpoint where things are at within the healing process and where it can use a boost. To find a starting point with song, I have my clients focus in on some negative core emotion related to the area of their debilitation that needs the boost. My clients hold and feel this emotion while I connect to it as well, and I begin to share song from there.
The songs of Life aren’t structured like a written piece of music. Instead, the songs are found inside my client’s emotional systems. As a singer, my job is to connect to these songs, which can also be understood to be stories, so I can read and bring them to life with the power of Creation as I sing.

I know this explanation probably sounds peculiar, but think of it this way. Our DNA can be seen as a grouping of stories that sit within our organic software, ready to give the instruction needed to help our systems take the needed journey to heal when they’re damaged. What I basically do as a singer is to connect to these stories as they’re playing out within the core healing process so I can supercharge them. I sing up these stories while infusing them with the power of Creation, and this gives them the energy they need to heal in ways they can’t on their own.
When my clients receive song, the boost it offers is experienced emotionally in the days and even weeks after they receive it. It creates a momentum within their healing process that my clients learn to meet, work with, and even direct. By working as a team, we help the healing process move forward from song to song, which we do every two weeks as a part of session.
The person receiving song can sit by passively to receive song, but they’d be missing a lot if they did. It’s much more effective for them to start by feeling the negative emotion we focus on to begin song, and then to take their own journey as song unfolds. How this happens varies from person to person. Sometimes it’s an emotional journey as song touches on the different parts of the person’s debilitation that’s healing; other times there’s a visual experience where clients remember certain experiences that are connected to the emotion their healing through; other times, the experience is more energetically based as my clients experience energy moving through their bodies. In the end, the more my clients are able to stay with the journey song takes them on, the more they’ll learn about their unfolding healing process, and the more they’ll be able to apply what they’re learning to their ongoing work.
When I say I carry and share the songs of Life, what I’m really referring to is my ability to marry the stories of those in need with the power of Creation. I hope you can now understand this doesn’t mean I was given generic songs to sing. Instead, I was given access to the power of Creation, to Life, and then I had to learn how to connect It to the emotional systems of people who were struggling and in need of help.
That demanded I learn how to do something called ‘seeing’.
